The first mistake most people make, is leaving the subject of entertainment for their wedding receptions until last. The best DJs, discos and Bands get booked well in advance. You might be lucky to get a short notice booking, but is it worth taking the risk?
Like most things in life you get what you pay for. The class of entertainment
that is provided at wedding receptions will always determine whether or not
they are a success.
All bookings are confirmed in writing. Two duplicate booking forms are sent
out - the customer needs to sign and return one copy with their deposit in
the addressed envelope
DOS & DON'TS
Don't book a DJ direct, some will take
the booking, even if they aren't suitable for your function. If he becomes
ill or has an accident, he has no back - up.
Do use a booking agent, they have a choice
of DJs. They will contract the DJ to perform for you. If the DJ has an accident
or is ill, the agent can use his contacts to find a replacement at short notice.
Don't think that because one DJ is £30
to £50 cheaper than another, that you are getting a good deal. Cheap
DJs are usually cheap for a reason. A common problem is a DJ of this calibre
gets offered more money to DJ for someone else and leaves you in the lurch.
Do leave enough of your budget for good
quality entertainment. The success of the whole day, can rest on this decision.
The cost of entertainment at wedding receptions compared to other costs
for the day will be comparatively small.

The name of the venue and room being used, is it on the ground floor? (this
is essential to know the size of the room)
